Coop’s Den features five resident DJ’s. This week we’re getting to know DJ Raydio.
DJ Raydio aka Kevin Cox has been entertaining crowds for almost five years. As a resident DJ at Coop's,DJ Raydio is most commonly found spinning popular house music tracks and stepping music. We asked DJ Raydio a few questions to get know the man behind the turntables a little bit more.
How did you get started as a DJ?
I've always been into music. I was always that one guy with the mixes. So I got a mentor, Kickin "Kenny" Cahill, and I would go to events with him and shadow him. He showed me the ropes. He's helped me out a lot.
What do you enjoy most about spinning music?
I like to see people's reaction to songs - to see people feel good; especially when you play that one song that gets everyone up and out of their chairs. It's that feeling, I can't get enough of it.
In your experience, what is the most requested song during one of your sets?
There is a steppers song by T.L. Williams that is requested atleast once during each of my sets.
Where can we find some of your mixes? Are any available online?
People can find me on SoundCloud and MixCloud under DJ Raydio.
